I know the bitter taste of hopelessness. In 2021, I completed Senior High School with a burning desire to become a nurse, but my family was paralyzed by financial hardship. My mother was single-handedly raising five of us after my parents separated in 2018. Coming from western region of Ghana, a farming and mining hub, our farm, the only source of income, reduced yield because illegal mining destroyed the soil and water. I spent a year at home, watching my nursing dream turn to ash and my mother struggle for her health due to the crushing weight of hardship.
Then entered Mrs Evelyn Lani Boaten in 2022. Through her profound kindness, she immediately enrolled and took up complete financial burden of my education at Wisconsin International University College in Kumasi, Ghana. Because she believed in me when the world felt empty, I am now in my final year pursuing my degree in Nursing. More than that , she stepped into the shoulder of my mother’s medical care ,who is healthy now.
When Mrs. Boaten educates a person, she doesn't just help an individual; she heals a family and uplifts a whole community. For her sake , a girl who once had no hope of higher education will soon be saving lives as a professional nurse.
